Marie-Josee Kravis Attends 2009 Bilderberg Conference

Marie-Josee Kravis, wife of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Company co-establisher Henry Kravis, were invited to attend the 2009 Bilderberg annual conference. The meeting was held in Athens, Greece, at the Astir Palace resort starting from the 14th to the 16th of May.

Marie-Josee Kravis, senior fellow at Hudson Institute and former member of the Board at Hollinger, Inc., was one of the United States representatives at the gathering. She was with other United States representatives including Richard Perle, from the American Enterprise Institute; David Petraeus, Commander of the United States Central Command; and Lawrence Summers, an economist as well as a Director of the White House National Economic Council.

The Bilderberg Group is an unofficial and exclusive assembly of about 130 guests, who are experts in the area of business, politics and banking. The invited guests discuss matters on various worldwide concerns such as military, economic, and political issues.

The Club yearly meets at different luxury resorts or hotels in the world, mostly in Europe and once every four years in Canada or in the United States.

The assembly was held under very tight security. The purpose of the meeting is to foster cooperation and come up with workable solutions for economic and social problems that governments must face.
